Saturday 08.30 – 12.30

Plus cover shifts available

Salary:

£12.71 per hour

Introduction to Seachange:

Seachange opened in March 2018 on the former community hospital site, offering NHS appointments, GP services, exercise classes, and community spaces to improve health and reduce isolation.

In 2021, Seachange became an independent charity, reflecting our wider commitment to supporting the whole East Devon community. Still based at the original hospital, we now provide more services, involve more volunteers, and continue to promote connection, wellbeing, and positive change.

Overall Job Purpose:

As a Seachange fitness instructor, you’ll work within the fitness team to deliver evidence-based, client-focused exercise and support. Our users include those regaining fitness, managing physical challenges, or maintaining strength and wellbeing. You’ll foster positive, motivating relationships while promoting Seachange’s inclusive and welcoming environment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete gym inductions for new clients
  • Arrange gym reviews / assessments for all service users
  • Lead fitness classes dependent on qualifications
  • Support the Health and wellbeing coordinator
  • Ensure timely and efficient opening and closing procedures are adhered to
  • Ensure any fitness equipment is maintained appropriately

General Responsibilities:

  • To ensure appropriate communication at all times
  • To work as part of a team and take on any duties as directed to ensure the efficient running of the Health & Fitness department as well as Seachange.
  • Build effective working relations across all areas of the business
  • Support the continuous improvement of Health & Fitness systems and practices
  • Employees: You have a duty of care of your own health & safety and that of others. Co-operation with your employers and co workers to help everyone meet their legal requirements

Experience of delivering group exercise classes
