Vacancy details for Adult Care Worker – Level 2 Apprentice
The successful candidate will work closely to support our growing number of community activities including our twice weekly memory cafe aimed at users with memory loss; social activities such as community singing; sew n save; gardening for health as well as supporting our wider team with a variety of innovative and exciting activities and programmes.
Job Description
The role will predominantly be focussed on supporting the memory café users and work alongside the coordinator in developing activities to ensure that the group are as focussed and engaged as possible during their day. One to one help with our participants will also be required i.e. going for a short walk; discussions; guided support.
The candidate will also be required to support the Seachange team in a number of opportunities dependent on availability (this is subject to Exeter college attendance etc).
Main duties will include help and support to:
· Work as part of our reception and wellbeing coordinator team
· Work with a number of volunteers to ensure that appropriate levels of service and activity are maintained
· Help with fundraising opportunities
· Assist with marketing and promotion of Seachange
· Help to further develop a befriending service for people that may be struggling with loneliness and isolation
· Act as an ambassador of Seachange when out and about in the WEB (Woodbury, Exmouth and Budleigh) area.
· Become an integral part of the team
Other duties may include:
· Supporting users to have choice and control in their lives
· Monitoring health
· Supporting with social activities

Qualifications Required
· Maths and English GCSE 4 (or equivalent) and above as a minimum
Skills Required
· Experience of working with older people
· To be able to work effectively as part of a team

Training Provided
You will attend Exeter College one day a week working towards your Level 2 Adult Care Worker apprenticeship.
